A rare Edwardian novelty silver stamp box with 3 sloping compartments made in the form of William Shakespeare's wooden desk, as seen at his house in Stratford upon Avon, by Barker Brothers Silver Ltd, Birmingham, in 1922.

 

The silver presents B. B S L., the Birmingham assay mark, and date letter “X” for 1922. The novelty desk is also stamped ‘Sterling Made in England.’

  • In very good condition with no damage or repair. The marks are partially worn to edges, though are still recognisable. The hinge has good movement.
