A beautiful French silver mounted scent bottle with a green opaline glass body and panel, c1850. The opaline glass has a facet cutting and it was made by adding phosphates or oxides to the glass processing, resulting in an opalescent effect. The lid, heavily embossed with flowers, tests for silver and is unmarked. When opened, the scent bottle reveals the original green glass stopper inside.

In good condition with the usual wearing signs commensurate with age, with the exception of two hairlines. You can barely notice them on the surface of the glass, but at the right angle they become apparent inside the glass.
